Graphic design at Waldorf teaches students how to take a wide range of design elements and work them together into a cohesive whole.

As a graphic design major, you will study and practice the art of design. You will use industry standard digital tools, you will learn the design principles and solve design problems though visual means. You will learn how to develop logos, layout publications, experiment with typography and design websites. Ultimately, you will learn how to communication conceptually. In addition to the skills and competency you will develop, the program will also examine the art of design from historical, critical and theoretical perspectives.

The program consists of rigorous courses, a required internship and the participation is the program’s practicums. Students typically take four years to complete the program. While enrolled at the university, students are expected to enroll in one to two communications courses per semester. Graduates from this program have gone on to careers in all areas of the industry, including design studios and agencies, newspapers, magazines and web development companies, while some have chosen to pursue professional freelance careers.
